CSM MACHINERY offers automation solutions that combine in a single machine several functions usually performed by separate machines. These multi-operation transfers have versatile production capabilities and therefore can incorporate different types of work units depending on the needs of the customer. Multi-operation transfers consist of a series of workstations that transport and process elements autonomously and without interruption, thus reducing downtime while increasing production volumes.

The advantage of incorporating several operations into a single machine makes it possible to optimize the footprint in the production plant, thus managing internal spaces more efficiently.
These machines are equipped with sensors and monitoring systems that provide the operator with real-time feedback, ensuring precise control over each operation and quality assurance.

The resulting automation allows fewer errors and guarantees high standards in terms of precision, process flexibility and repeatability.

 


Multi-operation transfer for the preparation of heating elements after heat-treatment

The transfer for the preparation of heating elements after heat-treatment consists of five workstations:

  • Centering unit.
  • Unit for the trim of the end.
  • Unit for cropping the terminal pins to length.
  • Unit to control the cut pin.
  • Deburring unit.

 

Multi-operation transfer

The multi-operation transfer allows to process heating elements with different lengths by simply changing the machine settings.
This machine consists of the following units:

  • Cropping of the terminal pin.
  • Check of the cut pin.
  • Chamfering.
  • Stretching to length.
  • Electrical tests.
  • Automatic unloading.

Multi-operation transfer for cartridge heaters

This type of transfer is positioned in line with the rolling mill in order to directly collect the cartridge heaters that are exiting.
This multi-operation transfer consists of five workstations:

  • Hot air blower unit.
  • Cutting of multiple pins.
  • Unit for linishing one end.
  • Straightness measurement unit.
  • Automatic unloading unit with selection of scrap.

Multi-operation transfer optimized for water heaters

This is the most complex type of transfer as it consists of two work sections in which different operations are combined.
The first section consists of:

  • Automatic loading of the heating elements through a mechanical arm that picks them up from a container and places them on the walking-beam.
  • Electric spot annealing unit.
  • Plug pulling unit.
  • Cutting pin to length.
  • Chamfering unit.
  • Linishing end unit.

Subsequently, in the second section of the transfer, we find:

  • The U-bending unit.
  • The closing and pressing unit of the newly bend.
  • The unit to carry out all the necessary electrical tests.
  • The automatic unloading unit with selection of any scraps.

 

 

Multi-operation transfer for the stretching and sealing of heating elements

The multi-operation transfer for the stretching and sealing of heating elements consists of ten workstations:

  • Stretching unit.
  • Centering unit.
  • Pin cutting unit.
  • Unit for checking the cut pin.
  • Chamfering unit.
  • Unit for the measurement of the magnesium oxide depth.
  • MgO removal unit.
  • Assembly of the teflon plug.
  • Coning unit.
  • Electric tests unit.
  • Automatic unloading of the heating element.

Transfer for the collection of resistances at the exit of the roll reducing mill

This type of transfer is positioned in line with the reduction mill in order to collect the heating elements that are exiting.
This device consists of three workstations:

  • Centering unit.
  • Plug pulling unit.
  • Cropping pins to length.

At the end of the cycle, the transfer automatically unloads the heating elements into a container at the foot of the machine and selects any scraps.
